The main problem is that if they were to hire you, they would have to close the search and re-open it without the requirement of the MS degree. Right now, as the position description stands, having an MS is a requirement. Everyone is afraid of a scorned applicant coming back and suing. BUT, you are pretty much what they are looking for. It's that dang degree that got in the way. I'm sorry!
