the trip was pleasant enough. as predicted, i drove, i ate, i drove back. i figure it was good practice for the xmas trip, though it was only 7 hours one way instead of 24. getting out of san diego was actually the most painful part by far: 2 hours, inching along! once i got out to the desert, i was fine. amazingly enough, it rained most of the way back (lightning!). trixie got strangely low gas mileage most of the trip, which i find particularly odd because i remember getting good gas mileage the last time i drove to phoenix. i'm attributing it to the wind.
this trip was brought to you by the following soundtrack: rob mead, ed: love will come around; annie lennox: diva; kmfdm: naive; matt gitchell's college band, "birthday suit;" talking heads: little creatures; violent femmes: blister in the sun; steven covey: tapes 1-3 of the 7 habits of highly effective people; kevin trudeau: tapes 1-4 of mega memory.
