Gretchin -- Happy New Year! I hope that you have a wonderful and productive 2006.
Black eyed peas -- how could I have forgotten to eat those yesterday! And we're almost in the South (or we are in the south, depending on who you talk to around here.) Although, in Colorado Springs, we used to have a New Year's Day party featuring posole for good luck. Well, have a good one! --you will be able to read this assuming I can figure out what this instant's Word Verification "word" is. (I'm never quite sure what I'm seeing, especially when the letters are run together. Is that an "r" or an "n"? Hmm, perhaps I'm not human after all. . .)
thanks, susan! sven's tuscon family had posole, though i've never really liked it. but then, i've never liked black-eyed peas, either, but my dad always made them, so it doesn't seem right w/o them. i just figured out how to season them right this year, though, and that made all the difference. :)
