Congrats on getting Trixie all paid up -- that is such a good feeling, isn't it. (now take those car payments you were paying and put them in the fund to fix the car -- well, it's not quite that bad, but sometimes it seems like it.)
That ceramic slicer looked dangerously awesome. We have a ceramic vegetable peeler that I can't do without -- I'm never going back to metal again. I am going to hide the next Chef's catalog from Scott -- he'll want to buy that slicer. (and we have no more room to put stuff until we get rid of stuff. I think he has some sort of disorder when it comes to buying kitchen stuff! but then, sometimes he does get something that is just soo cool, like the ceramic peeler.) word verification: rkjje -- I kept wanting to type "rilke" for some reason.
i'm hoping as a charmed prius it won't have any problems ever until it decides to expire with a little sigh at about the same time as we buy a new flying car. :)

i wasn't impressed w/ that slicer even before it bit me; it did poorly on tomatoes & mushrooms, barely managed an onion, and its hand guard is a joke. if my dad gets me another gift certificate, i might get the oxo, but none of the slicers look like they handle small carrots well... |
